Spanish Nets Try to Smash Border Patrol, Fail of Their Own Volition

The official claims that 95% of migrants entering the United States do so illegally. This, thanks to the immigration policies of the Trump administration.

DULCE CASTELLANOS: Some activists say that the tightening of immigration laws has pushed immigrants to look for other ways to cross. Many times the places are more isolated and dangerous.

CASTELLANOS: But in this interview, a Border Patrol officer tells us that this is a route for smugglers who go through treacherous areas

FRANCISCO CUEVAS: The Border Patrol says it can gain access to commercially available information if it is relevant to its border security mission. Recently, that information served to detect a drug tunnel on the Mexico-Arizona border. The Civil Liberties Union says that what the federal government is doing is unacceptable, and that they will exhaust all legal remedies to force them to disclose the information they are receiving from these private companies and how they are using it.

This is the part of the Rio Bravo where several of these children have crossed. The Border Patrol, for its part, told us that they have not seen a significant increase in unaccompanied minors and emphasize that it is very dangerous for parents to send them in that way.
