Not surprisingly, MSNBC's Joe Scarborough complained about the language President Trump used during his speech announcing the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Scarborough complained about how "the President of the United States went on talking about how Baghdadi died like a 'dog, a coward...whimpering and sniveling.'" According to Scarborough, "he sounded not like a President of the United States; he actually sounded like Saddam Hussein after torturing people, sounded like Muammar Gaddafi after he would torture people." Scarborough described the President's remarks as "deeply un-American" and "deeply troubling," in addition to highlighting them as an example of his "strongman instincts." Later, Princeton University Professor and frequent MSNBC guest Eddie Glaude claimed that Trump's "John Wayne Bravado reflects a deep insecurity in Donald Trump. That insecurity was evidenced in his comparison of the murder of Baghdadi...with Obama's and Osama Bin Laden." Glaude went on to contend that "all of this has to do with...what he thinks being a man means. And so what we heard yesterday with 'he died like a dog, he was whimpering,' was Donald Trump kind of performing his hypermasculinity."
