Joe Scarborough, on Monday’s Morning Joe, blamed President Trump and Attorney General Barr for the possible release from jail of Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson, who is accused of plotting a domestic terrorist attack. But it is a federal judge who will hear and decide that request for release.

“Donald Trump and Attorney General Barr and the Trump Justice Department let him walk,” Scarborough charged, though Hasson is still behind bars. Scarborough offered a villainous reason: “We’re talking about the rise of white nationalism and here is a guy that is planning to slaughter everyone of Donald Trump’s political rivals.”

Minutes later, guest Eddie Glaude Jr. of Princeton University, asserted: “There’s an environment, a context that is allowing this stuff to metastasize.” He zeroed in on Trump “talking about the ‘sick idea’ of sanctuary cities, talking about immigration and Disneyland,” so “we have in some ways a president that is embracing a segment of the population that literally has the country by the throat, Joe. We have to do something about this or we’re going to see even more die.”
