On Tuesday, Newt Gingrich connected Mitt Romney to former Florida Governor Charlie Crist by speaking of Romney's hiring of former aides to Crist. Gingrich stated, “I thought that told you everything you need to know about this primary.”

Gingrich did this because Crist is not well liked by Florida conservatives after his support of President Obama's stimulus program in 2010. Crist ultimately left the Republican party to run against current Sen. Marco Rubio.

However, back in 2009, Newt Gingrich had nothing but praise for the former Governor and said that Charlie Crist is a "solid political figure" and good person.
