Minneapolis City Council President Announces Plan to ‘End Policing as We Know It’

Minneapolis City Council’s president Lisa Bender told an open-air public meeting in the city on Sunday that the council was committed “to end our city’s toxic relationship with the Minneapolis Police Department, to end policing as we know it, and to recreate systems of public safety that actually keep us safe.”
