McConnell, Reid, Grapple Over Amendment Linking Iran Sanctions Relief to Releasing Americans, Recognizing Israel

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Thursday although the Senate is divided over the Iran nuclear deal, it should “at the very least” be able to come together to support an amendment linking sanctions relief to Iran’s recognition of Israel’s right to exist and its release of U.S. citizens in its custody. Minority Leader Harry Reid characterized the GOP move as cynical, and a waste of time.
