IAEA Defends, WH Endorses Process That Allowed Iranians to Collect Samples at Suspect Military Site

International Atomic Energy Agency chief Yukiya Amano on Monday defended its decision to let the Iranians collect samples last week at a controversial military base, saying that “an established verification process” had assured the the samples were authentic. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Amano’s statement “disproves the claims of our critics who suggested that Iran would be conducting self-inspections. That obviously is not true.”
