THOM HARTMANN (24 October 2013) (RE Congressman Alan Grayson's Tea Party-KKK comparison): I think what he said was right on, and I wish Democrats would speak out more often like this, and push the edges of propriety and say things that some people might consider outrageous and therefore get in the news cycle. I mean, here you have Sarah Palin calling the president of the United States a liar, a serial liar, and so, guess what, Sarah Palin gets all these news hits, she's the news cycle [sic], she sells a few million more books, she makes more money, her politics and her political position gets pushed out there, there's another slur on Obama and Obamacare that gets out there. Alan Grayson does it and everybody's like, 'Uhhhhh, Democrats don't talk like that,' and Grayson is calling out racism, and Sarah Palin, whether she's doing this out of a racist intention or whether or not, it's still [a] dog whistle to the racists.
