During Tuesday's edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, host Tucker Carlson opened the show by pointing out that "talking heads" argued that "John McCain's funeral, if it meant anything, meant that unity and civility had to return to Washington." After playing a clip of a CBS Reporter talking about how the McCain funeral emphasized the importance of country over party, Carlson emphasized, "well, that didn't happen today" before playing clips of Democratic Senators interrupting Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley as he attempted to begin the confirmation hearings for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Trump's Supreme Court nominee. Carlson pointed out that "the multiple screaming lefty protesters didn't get the memo about bipartisanship, either." Carlson concluded his opening monologue by saying "So it wasn't a good day for bipartisanship."
