“How would we feel … if the Taliban had sent Osama bin Laden to be an ambassador to the United Nations from Afghanistan?” Sen. Ted Cruz asked Tuesday. He was introducing legislation aimed at preventing “known terrorists” from entering the U.S. to serve as U.N. envoys, following Iran’s nomination of a man involved in the 1979 Tehran hostage crisis.
