The MSNBC/Washington Post Democratic debate in Atlanta, Ga. took a comedic turn Wednesday night when Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) called out former Vice President Joe Biden for, as Booker said, saying that marijuana shouldn't be legalized.

"This week I hear him literally say that 'I don't think we should legalize marijuana,'" Booker said. "I thought you might've been high when you said it."

While it was a funny moment in the debate, Booker wasn't exactly accurate in his assessment of Biden's earlier quote.

"But let me tell you the truth of the matter is, there's not nearly been enough evidence that has been acquired as to whether or not it is a gateway drug," Booker said, according to CNN. "It's a debate, and I want a lot more - before I legalize it nationally - I want to make sure we know a lot more about the science behind it."

Biden appears to have said that he needs more information before he would legalize marijuana, not the blanket statement Booker intimated that the former vice president wouldn't legalize it, period.
