CNN Touts Teenage Global Warming Activist

On New Day Sunday, CNN promoted global warming activist Greta Thunberg as the climate alarmist prepared for a publicity stunt to precede her appearance at the United Nations climate summit, The Swedish teen made a name for herself among the left in a speech railing against adults for not doing more to stop global warming.

Co-host Christi Paul began setting up the report: "A lot of people sounding the alarm over climate change. Teenage activist Greta Thunberg -- she's elevated the issue, I'd say, more than most, for her age."

Victor Blackwell then added: "Next month she plans to address the UN's climate action summit in New York, and, to get there, she's sailing across the Atlantic on a special yacht."

Correspondent Linda Kincaid informed viewers that Thunberg is going to extraordinary lengths to make her trip "emissions free" by taking two weeks to sail there on a boat without normal comforts like bathroom facilities.

Kincaid recalled: "She's refusing to fly in order to make her voyage emission free. Instead, she'll spend about two weeks at sea. And the conditions she's prepared to live with, well, she'll have to live with no toilet." Several clips were included of Thunberg being optimistic about tolerating the trip.

Kincaid surprisingly used the word "skeptics" instead of the more loaded term "deniers" to refer to those who have doubts about the predictions of alarmists as the CNN correspondent soon recalled: "The 16-year-old has become a leading voice in the global campaign for action against global warming. Before setting sail Wednesday, Greta said she would ignore criticism from climate change skeptics, arguing that science was on her side."

After the report concluded, co-host Paul commented: "It will be interesting to see what that little girl does." After Blackwell commented, "Yeah, that's a commitment," Paul enthused, "Yeah, what a start."
