CNN Panel Seems Unaware Media 'Berate' Trump Constantly

On Thursday's Cuomo Primetime, members of an all-liberal panel including host Chris Cuomo, CNN contributor Jennifer Granholm, and frequent guest Michael Eric Dyson, demonstrated that they are so far within the liberal bubble that they do not perceive that President Donald Trump has been "berated" constantly in the media for the past four years ever since he announced his run for President.

The bizarre moment came when Dyson claimed that a woman or minority would be "berated" for behaving like President Trump as Cuomo hosted a discussion over the debate between Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on racial issues.

Toward the end of the segment, after the group had discussed the strategy each candidate should take in dealing with attacks by the other, Dyson declared:

But you know what, Chris Cuomo, you know what the real deal is. Donald Trump has an ability and a privilege to say nasty and do nasty things that an African-American or a woman won't. If Hillary Clinton had done half the stuff that this man is doing, she would have been berated.

He added: "If Barack Obama had taken a sip of a White Russian drink in the White House..."

Cuomo then jumped in and went along with the premise: "Because the left cares about this in a candidate. The left -- you guys care about this stuff. You guys judge on this -- his people will not."

Dyson added:

But I'm saying to you, sir, a black man can't be angry  A black woman can't be as angry as Donald Trump -- can't be as vociferous, as vituperative, as nasty, and as disregarding the consequences of his own speech. And I'm telling you, that's a form of privilege that these candidates don't have. And as a result of that, fighting has to be done in very strategic and very politic fashion.

Cuomo agreed: "Very true. You must understand the rules at play even if you want to change and reject those rules."

After jokingly praising Dyson for using the word "vituperative," Cuomo further concurred: "You've got the metaphor here. You've got a white, Anglo-Saxon man who is preaching to America that its prejudices are well-founded, and that the division is necessary. And you're going to have a monumental task in front of you. It'll go to the core of the soul of this country.
