Picking up an an AP headline, “Trump dodges question on whether he has worked for Russia,” Mika Brzezinski opened Monday’s Morning Joe by highlighting how, when President Trump was asked, “have you ever worked for Russia?’” that “nowhere in his 354-word answer did he say the word no.”

In fact, in response to the question from FNC’s Jeanine Pirro, Trump pretty clearly rejected the allegation: “I think it’s the most insulting thing I’ve ever been asked. I think it’s the most insulting article I’ve ever had written. And if you read the article you’d see that they found absolutely nothing.”

Pirro’s question was prompted by a New York Times story headlined: “F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia.”

Brzezinski, on the January 14 Morning Joe:

“On Saturday the president was asked, point blank, ‘have you ever worked for Russia?’ Nowhere in his 354-word answer did he say the word no. Welcome to Morning Joe on this Monday, January 14th...”
