Following the conclusion of Friday's edition of Real Time, the "Overtime" discussion focused on the conviction of former Trump associate Roger Stone. Donna Brazile was quite gleeful about Stone's fate, proclaiming "I hope he roasts in hell." Even host Bill Maher appeared shocked by her strong tone. After Brazile finished profanely trashing Stone, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni gave his two cents: "I share her jubilation about Roger Stone's conviction but it's way eclipsed by frustration." Bruni noted that Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen have each had a "moment of reckoning" before wondering "when does Donald Trump's moment of reckoning come?" According to Bruni, "my frustration about that way eclipses my jubilation about justice being served." Acting as a self-described "person who's looking for doom and gloom," Maher described fear of facing prosecution as "one reason why he (Trump) can't leave because his choice is either stay in power or go to jail." Later, the panel freaked out about the possibility of Trump's acquittal in the Senate, with Bruni declaring "God help us if he's re-elected because if he acts like this in his first term...imagine the second term...He's trying to break the country, he's not competent at it but he might get it right in eight years." Maher seemed to share Bruni's concerns: "Believe me, I am sh***ing my pants every day about that...because he's a vindictive person." As the "Overtime" segment came to a close, the panel focused on Trump's tax returns. Bruni asked "why have they not been leaked?" Maher replied: "I don't know, why aren't they? Why can't someone do a covert action and just steal them? I mean...it's on a microfiche. You can put it in your underwear."
