[See NewsBusters for more.] Media Research Center President Brent Bozell slammed San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for refusing to stand during the National Anthem. Appearing on Varney and Company, Thursday, an appalled Bozell denounced, “I think this man is a disgraceful ingrate. I spit on him for what he has been saying.” The MRC president continued, “How dare this man have done that, given all the men and women who gave their lives for that flag?” Pointing out the media double standard on the comments, Varney played a clip of Kaepernick saying of Hillary Clinton: “We have a presidential candidate who has deleted e-mails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate That doesn't make sense to me. Because if that were any other person, you would be in prison.”
