House Speaker John Boehner told the press that another week has been wasted in negotiations on the fiscal cliff and that the president seems to have adopted a strategy of “slow walking” the country off the fiscal cliff. He stated that earlier statements by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that the president was willing to go off the fiscal cliff unless taxes were raised on top income earners and the process of raising the debt ceiling was reformed "reckless." He did say that increased revenue was still on the table, but that it was up to the White House to come up with a counteroffer to the House GOP's proposal.
