Blinken: US to Run for Human Rights Council Seat; Worst Rights-Abusers ‘Should Not Be Members’

Secretary of State Antony Blinken informed the U.N. Human Rights Council on Wednesday that the U.S. will run for a seat in the fall, and use it to press for an end to a “disproportionate focus on Israel” and to improve the body’s membership, saying that “those with the worst human rights records should not be members.”
