In a Wednesday night interview with Rep. Henry Waxman, PBS host Tavis Smiley preached from his Los Angeles pulpit that Gulf Coast residents need to move beyond oil drilling toward an alternative energy policy.
When Waxman explained that the Gulf residents depend on oil drilling for much of their economy, Smiley quipped "But dependence doesn't make it right, though."
