Trump Calls For 'Death Penalty' Legislation For Those Who 'Commit Hate Crimes & Mass Murders'

In the wake of the tragic mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas, President Trump addressed the nation Monday morning from the White House with Vice President Mike Pence by his side.

During a portion of his address, Trump spoke about possible solutions to a problem that will never go away — we can help it subside, but human nature dictates that we could never completely get rid of behavior we don’t deem proper.

However, Trump brought up fixes that could lessen the problem, including calling on legislation for those that commit "hate crimes and mass murders."

"Today, I'm also directing the Department of Justice [DOJ] to propose legislation, ensuring that those who commit hate crimes and mass murders face the death penalty," Trump said, putting emphasis on "death penalty," "and that this capital punishment be delivered quickly, decisively and without years of needless delay."
