During a segment early Friday morning about Twitter, NBC’s Late Night host Seth Meyers praised Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif’s reaction to series of tweets from Republican Senator Tom Cotton (Ark.) as “well-done” and admitting that he was “very impressed” with Zarif’s use of “reverse criticism.”

Transitioning from talking about a social media manager for the NBA’s Houston Rockets being recently fired, Meyers set the scene by parroting the standard liberal line about the Iran letter: “Cotton is the Senator who penned an open letter to Iranian leaders in an attempt to derail President Obama's negotiations with them.”
