Sen. Coons Warned in April ‘World Would Suffer’ If IP Protections For US-Made Vaccines Are Waived

Last month, Sen. Chris Coon (D-Dela.) said that waiving intellectual property protections for U.S.-made coronavirus vaccines would put private sector investment at risk, “and I think frankly the world would suffer as a result.” The Biden administration on Wednesday said it now supports a proposal to temporarily waive the protections.
