Appearing on Meet the Press Sunday, Princeton University professor and frequent MSNBC guest Eddie Glaude urged Congressional Democrats to "uphold their Constitutional responsibility," clearly implying that he was talking about starting impeachment hearings. After arguing that Congressional Democrats "have to assert the role and responsibility of the Congress for oversight," Glaude began making Watergate comparisons by talking about how "the actors in this current drama that are in some ways the children of many of those folks who participated in the Nixon era," specifically mentioning that "Bill Barr is a protégé of Dick Cheney." Glaude warned that if Congress punts and does not "uphold their oath," they will be signaling their support for unconstrained executive power and warned that "the basic structure of our Constitutional framework...will collapse in some ways."
