[See NewsBusters for more.] On MSNBC's Tuesday edition of Deadline: White House host Nicolle Wallace welcomed journalism professor Jason Johnson on to the program to call for the abolishment of policing as currently understood and to accuse anyone who might question this approach of gaslighting.
Wallace led Johnson by reading a joint statement from the Obamas that said the combination of the Derrick Chauvin trial and death of Daunte Wright, "Floyd indicates not just how important it is to conduct a full and transparent investigation, but also just how badly we need to reimagine policing and public safety in this country.”
