During Wednesday's edition of The Rachel Maddow Show, the eponymous host delivered a five-minute monologue trashing the Trump administration's "plan to indefinitely imprison immigrant families." According to Maddow, "it's kind of like Guantanamo, where 18 years after 9/11, we're still today holding people that the military picked up in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attack with attack." Before unveiling her comparison of migrant detention centers to Guantanamo, Maddow slammed the Trump administration's "three most radical, anti-immigrant policies since the Muslim ban," specifically "their new plan to basically block people from applying for asylum in this country" and "their new plan to make it so that only people with lots of money and maybe private health insurance are allowed to immigrate to this country at all." The new rule that would seek to detain migrant families for longer than 20 days was the third "radical, anti-immigrant" policy Maddow discussed.
