During his opening monologue Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel weighed in on the newly passed abortion laws, complaining that "several southern states are doing what they can to overturn Roe v. Wade."  He focused specifically on Alabama's "near total abortion ban" before appearing to trash the state of Alabama by calling the law "very scary" and saying "no woman should ever be forced to raise a child in Alabama. It just shouldn't happen." Kimmel complained that "these strict anti-choice laws put women's reproductive rights at risk." He then played a video saying that because of restrictions on abortion and plan B, women now instead have to meet doctors behind Popeye's Chicken (back alley abortions) and/or rely on "Plan F, as in f***ed because that's what you are." The video ended with the star of the video dressed in a Handmaid's Tale costume and very unhappily holding two screaming babies; sort of implying that pregnancy was a disease.
