CNN’s Stelter Claims Trump’s Mental Instability Obvious, Chastises Networks for Going Soft On It

CNN’s Brian Stelter led Sunday’s Reliable Sources by characterizing recent tweets and comments by President Donald Trump as evidence of his mental instability, as Stelter chastised the broadcast networks for failing to connect the dots to make this case for viewers. 

Amongst journalists, Stelter reported, “there is definitely widespread recognition that Trump’s behavior is getting worse in type and in frequency. It seems he’s acting more erratic more often.” But, he complained, “when you watch a broadcast nightly newscast, how often do you hear about just how far off the road Trump is? Not often enough. Yes, they do note the daily madness, but they rarely connect the dots between the freak- outs.”

He praised CNN and MSNBC for being “better about putting the ugly reality right in front and center in banners and in stories.” 

Stelter led into his segment with two psychiatrists: “We can’t tiptoe around it anymore. We’ve got to talk about this. So let’s talk about it. Let’s do it. Let me bring in two guests, two psychiatrists...”
