Amid 'Foreign Fighter' Concerns, Kerry Comments on Photo of Boy Holding Severed Head in Syria

Amid discussions between U.S. and Australian ministers over the threat posed by foreign fighters in the Syria conflict returning to their home countries, a photograph emerged online of a young Australian boy, the son of a jihadist fighting in Syria, holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier. Secretary of State John Kerry called it “one of the most disturbing, stomach-turning, grotesque photographs ever displayed.”
