After witnessing a violent fist fight break out between OccupyDC members and a group of passerbys I interviewed the occupier who received the worst beating. I witness him get knocked to the ground and kicked several times. The people shouting, celebrating, and jumping up and down appeared to be the aggressors in the fight. They fled the scene after police arrived. The occupier involved said he was simply trying to break up the fist fight and didn't know what the cause of the altercation was.
Off camera other occupiers told me the group of non-occupiers had been heckling them and the situation escalated until one of the non-occupiers threw a punch.
