Zero COVID Deaths in Texas Shows Biden’s the One Doing ‘Neanderthal Thinking’

BidenWhen Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott lifted all of his state’s mask mandates and COVID restrictions back in March, Pres. Biden declared it “Neanderthal thinking” and predicted it would turn out to be “a big mistake.”

But, now, it appears that Biden, not Abbott, is the one stuck in the Stone Age.

In a late Sunday night tweet, Gov. Abbott announced that his state has set a number of COVID lows – including zero coronavirus-related deaths.

Gov. Abbott also credited Texans for exercising their own free will to take COVID precautions without being forced to do so by a heavy-handed government:

Today Texas reported:

* 0 Covid related deaths--the only time that's happened since data was tracked in March, 2020.

* the fewest Covid cases in over 13 months

* the lowest 7-day Covid positivity rate ever

* the lowest Covid hospitalizations in 11 months.

Thanks, Texans!

On March 2, 2021, Gov. Abbott ended his state’s mask mandate and lifted all coronavirus restrictions – a move condemned at the time by President Joe Biden as “a big mistake” and “Neanderthal thinking”:

"Texas: I think it's a big mistake. We are on the cusp of being able to fundamentally change the nature of this disease because the way in which we are able to get vaccines in people's arms. The last thing, the last thing, we need is Neanderthal thinking in the meantime."

On Friday, Gov. Abbott issued a statement announcing that over 20 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in his state – even though Texans weren’t legally obligated to get vaccinated. In it, Abbott encouraged Texans to get vaccinations – but, promised that doing so “will always remain voluntary.”

As Gov. Abbott has said throughout the pandemic, he thinks getting vaccinated is a good idea – but, he’s not going to mandate masks, vaccinations, or shutdowns.
