The Central American migrant invasion — excuse me, “caravan” — are already acting entitled before getting to the U.S. to attempt to take advantage of the U.S.’s handout programs — excuse me, “entitlements.”

Reports are surfacing that the migrant “caravan” heading towards the U.S. is demanding that the United Nations (U.N.) give them buses to get them the rest of the way. The reason for the demand is that they say it’s “too cold and dangerous” for them to continue their trek to intentionally break U.S. law.

According to the Daily Mail:

About 200 migrants, representing the roughly 5,000 staying in a stadium in the south of Mexico's capital, marched to the United Nations office in Mexico City to make the demand for transportation.

The office was closed when the migrants arrived, but a dozen were received by UN representatives at a nearby location, said Ilberto Sosa Montes, a 45-year-old Honduran who is one of caravan's coordinators.

'We need buses to continue traveling,' said Milton Benitez, a caravan coordinator. Benitez noted that it would be colder in northern Mexico and it wasn't safe for the migrants to continue along highways, where drug cartels frequently operate.

I’m not trying to be “cold,” but shouldn’t the people making demands think about that before announcing their intention to illegally enter the U.S.? When you go North in the fall, it’s gets colder. That’s common sense. Plus, you would think people trying to flee cartels and  corruption would realize that the closer you get to the Mexico/U.S. border the more dangerous it becomes because of cartels.

I guess there wasn’t too much pre-planning before this “caravan” decided to make a statement to the evil U.S. — the same country they’re trying to flee to.

Now that he has some downtime, maybe failed Democratic senate candidate from Texas, Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, can continue to aid them, this time in the form of the buses the “caravan” is demanding.

All you need to know about the legal or illegal intentions of the “caravan” can be summarized by a statement by a lawyer to the migrants.

“California is the longest route but is the best border, while Texas is the closest but the worst' border, said Jose Luis Fuentes of the National Lawyers Guild to gathered migrants, according to the Daily Mail.

Gee, I wonder how Fuentes could’ve come up with that observation? Essentially, he’s saying that it’s easier to illegally enter California than Texas.

It should also be very telling that Mexico offered the migrants refuge, but most have declined. So is this “caravan” about getting help or helping themselves? If you're looking to receive help for the plight you claim to find yourself in, are you really in a position to make demands?
