With all the negatives about President Donald Trump pushed on a daily basis, the broadcast media rarely gives time to the good things the president does. This isn’t an article promoting the Trump line. This is just a great story you most likely won’t hear on a national broadcast because of the blind hate the media holds for the president.

A terminally ill West Haven, Conn. man has many things on his “bucket list” he wishes to experience before he unfortunately passes away. One of the bigger items on Jay Barrett’s list was to speak with a man who he supports “through thick and thin,” President Donald Trump. On Tuesday, his wish came true.

“Mr. President, through thick and thin, you know there’s been a lot of thicks, and there’s been a lot of thins, I support you,” Barrett, 44, told the president.

According to the Associated Press (AP):

Jay Barrett, of West Haven, who has cystic fibrosis, left the hospital to begin palliative care at his sister’s home last weekend and asked for some sort of contact with the president before he dies.

His sister, West Haven City Councilwoman Bridgette Hoskie, who describes herself as “100 percent Democrat,” went on social media to help make it happen. Friends and other supporters sent emails to the White House.

The efforts paid off Tuesday night when Barrett, 44, received a call from Trump.

What a great sister! Hoskie, who most likely disagrees with Trump on a few things considering she’s a Democrat, put politics aside to make her brother’s wish come true. For that, Hoskie deserves the utmost respect.

"I want to say thank you again for helping me get this done for my brother," Hoskie wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. "Everyone who emailed, texted or made a call on his behalf are just amazing. I am forever grateful."

Hoskie also took the time to capture the exchange between her brother and the president on video and posted it to Facebook.

Take a look:

Absolutely beautiful! Barrett’s reaction really displayed the gravity of what it must be like to have the President of the United States, no matter who’s in office, call you on the phone to talk. It’s one thing to see a president on television or in a video, but to actually get to talk to the leader of the free world is probably surreal.

According to the New Haven Register, Barrett also spoke to Eric Trump, who got a gift signed by President Trump for Barrett. Housing and Urban Development  (HUD) official Lynne Patton noted in a Facebook exchange that both she and Eric Trump spoke to Barrett about the good news and to tell him to "keep fighting."

Simply awesome all the way around. Keep fighting, Jay! We're with you!
