A police officer walked in the road, recording students who skipped school to march Tuesday in a “Hands Up; Don’t Shoot!” protest of a grand jury’s decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. But, why?

Is this the first-fruits of Pres. Obama’s $75 million plan to put body-worn cameras on state and local law enforcement in the wake of the accusations against police prompted by Brown’s shooting?

As students from McCluer North high school walked along the road playing to a CNSNews.com camera, the officer walked through the shot alongside the protesters, recording the march on a hand-held camera.

Is he:

  • Simply documenting the event?
  • Recording suspicious activity?
  • Trying to protect his fellow officers from being falsely accused of brutality?

What do you think?

The debate regarding the value of police cameras intensified today when a grand jury decided not to indict New York police officers for the chokehold death of Eric Garner – which was captured on camera.
