At this point, I’ve given up any faith in the current leadership in Chicago to do anything about the rampant violence plaguing the city. Another leftist “utopia” besieged by criminals only proves that the left truly believes that no lives matter.

The extended Labor Day weekend saw 56 people shot, with at least eight dying from their wounds. During this past weekend, which had one less day, 12 people were murdered with another 42 wounded in shootings across the Chicagoland area.

Even though there was one less day during this past weekend, only two fewer people were shot. Does anyone besides the police, handcuffed from doing their jobs properly, care about the people dying in the streets? Anyone?

Here’s a list of those who died over the weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Say their names:

Unidentified Male, 27

Unidentified Female, 28

Herbert Davis, 86

Unidentified Male, 35

Jeremy Akons, 27

Juan Gomez Torrez, 43

Danielle Peason, 33

Michael Mickey, 35

Lunyea Wilson, 47

Patrick L. Clinton, 34

Joshua Davis, 32

Walter Leflora, 34

Was that enough for everybody? If you’ve followed my weekly update on Chicago weekend shootings, you’ll know that this is unfortunately a typical weekend in Chicago in the last few months.

As for the year-to-date numbers on weekend shooting victims, Chicago is now up to at least 236 people dead and 1,246 people wounded. The Chicago Tribune shooting tracker, which keeps a weekly count of all Chicago shooting victims regardless of the day of the week, reported that 2,858 have been victims of shootings, as of September 7. That is 951 more than the same point in 2019, and the second highest number behind the same point in 2016 (2,992).
