These “protesters” and “activists” can save me their sob stories. If they truly cared about anyone’s lives but their own they would’ve — at any point in the last 40 years — been outraged over the lives that are taken every single day in cities like Chicago, St. Louis, and Baltimore. However, what do we all hear once again when faced with the continuing murder going on in those cities? Crickets, so spare me.

On Thursday alone, at least four people were killed and another eight were wounded in shootings across the Chicagoland area. Thursday’s events come after at least five people were murdered and another 61 were wounded in weekend shootings.

I ask this so many times and I never, ever get an answer — how many? How many lives need to be lost because of local and state government incompetence and willful ignorance to the violence happening in their cities for people other than the family members and friends of the departed to care or do something about it?

I’ll wait, and I’ll most likely keep waiting for an answer, too.

Typically I list the names of those who died resulting from a shooting. But the Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on any of the deceased. However, I can report that the ages of those killed ranged from 26-years-old to a man “believed to be in his 40s,” according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Someone with an actual backbone needs to take charge in these cities. They need to quit being the typical cowardly politicians when it comes to policing and allow cops to do their jobs of least attempting to keep others safe.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot is too busy trying to get a casino built in Chicago to worry about people being killed in record numbers in her city. I guess it was just another typical day in Chicago. Sad.
