After the Texas church mass shooting just over a week ago, a New York church is issuing a strong warning:

“We say it again. We are not a gun-free zone.”

A sign in front of Lighthouse Mexico Church of God in Oswego County in upstate New York makes the warning abundantly clear.

Pastor Ronald Russell in an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Monday explained that the church is “just putting out a warning that we believe in the Second Amendment and we do carry, and it's not going to happen in our church."

"Ever since Sandy Hook, these individuals – whether it's in Sandy Hook, whether it's in San Bernardino – people like to go to gun-free zones to shoot 'em up," said Russell. "And we're just putting out a warning that we believe in the Second Amendment and we do carry, and it's not going to happen in our church."

“You don’t see any of these shooters going to a cop station," he added.

The church is encouraging parishioners to bring their guns to its Sunday worship services.

Russell said that in a shooting situation, while police are great in their response, “if they have to respond, that means something’s already happened.”

"The damage has already taken place," he said. "It takes a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun."
