WATCH: Woman at Town Hall Tells Beto, 'Hell, No, You're Not' Taking My Guns Away

2020 Democratic hopeful Beto O’Rourke was in for a rude awakening at a town hall event in Aurora, Colo., on Thursday when he was confronted over his support for confiscating guns from lawful gun owners.

A 32-year-old woman and mother of four, Lauren Boebert drove three hours from her hometown of Rifle to Aurora to speak with the former congressman from El Paso, the Denver Post reports.

Boebert told O’Rourke that she was “here to say: Hell, no, you’re not” infringing on my Second Amendment rights.

"I am here to say: Hell, no, you’re not," she said. “With that, I would like to know how you intend to legislate evil, because it is not the gun, it is the heart of the man that does that.”

Many yelled over her, including someone who called her a “bootlicker,” but Boebert stood her ground.

"I have four children, I am 5-foot-0, 100 pounds, I cannot really defend myself with a fist,” she went on. “I want to know how you're going to legislate that because a criminal, by defense, breaks the law, so all you're going to do is restrict law-abiding citizens, like myself."

The town hall took place in the same town that experienced a mass shooting in a theater in 2012 that killed 12 people and injured at least 70 others. The shooter had a history of mental illness.

The confrontation on Thursday comes after O’Rourke vowed during the last Democratic presidential primary debate that, “Hell yes, we're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We're not going to allow it to be used against our fellow Americans anymore."
