In July, the House passed a bill that would raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, which would, if it made it through the Senate, force both large and small businesses to abide by that rule whether they could afford to or not.

In light of this, I went out to Washington, D.C., and asked people, “What do you think the minimum wage should be?”

Some people argued the minimum wage to be a living wage. But one person made it clear that it wasn’t ever intended to be that kind of wage. As he said, "Get some training if you want to increase your wages," because it's the market that determines -- and should continue to determine -- what your earnings should be.
