Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren has spent a lot of time on the 2020 campaign trail railing against sexism, pushing against the mythical gender wage gap and decrying the notion that a girl can’t – or shouldn’t – become president of the United States. So you might say Tuesday was…well, a step in the wrong direction.
The Democrat presidential contender, while speaking before the Culinary Workers Union in Las Vegas, peddled the common stereotypical trope that a woman’s place is to clean up after other people like a maid.
After telling the crowd that the White House is a “mess,” Warren continued, “And when you’ve got a mess and you really need it cleaned up, you call a woman and get the job done.”
Oof.
