Vice President Joe Biden went after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump during his speech to the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night.

He called Trump a cynic whose character can be summed up with the phrase that arguably made him famous: “You’re fired!”

“His lack of empathy and compassion can be summed up in a phrase he’s most proud of having [been] made famous: ‘You’re fired!’" said Biden.

"Think about that," he continued. "Think about everything you learn as a child. No matter where you were raised, how can there be pleasure in saying, ‘you’re fired’?”

“He’s trying to tell us he cares about the middle class. Give me a break. That’s a bunch of malarkey!” Biden added, drawing a standing ovation.
