Last May, 83 people in Colombia lost their lives as a result of heavy rain and landslides.

This video, shot by the Colombian police, displays a scary situation that happened in the town of Salgar during the catastrophe. A dog got caught in the river that was overrun by flood waters. The Colombian police sprang into action, chasing the dog down the rapidly moving water.

The rescue was nothing short of heroic, as the police had to administer CPR to the canine in order to get the water out of its lungs.
