Vice is reportedly creating a televised real-life torture chamber in the style of the “Real World.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Vice is currently casting for a reality television show in which people of varying -- and, presumably, opposing -- political views live together in a house in Washington, DC.

The casting application claims the show will be an “an experimental unscripted series that will bring together 18-45 year-olds from all walks of life and political extremes to live in close quarters in Washington, DC.”

Vice Studios’ casting page even explicitly states they are selecting people who will “go to any length” in order to get their name and face out there, so they’re bound to recruit deep-thinking intellectuals:

If you are passionate about your political beliefs and will go to any length (including appearing on “reality TV”) to get your voice heard, we want to hear from you. Whether you have dreams of becoming a politician, or you think all politicians are crooks; whether you think its better to be judged by twelve than carried by six, or think that Obama really should have taken everyone’s guns away; or if you quite simply want to change the world and are bold enough to put your beliefs up against your political opposite in the most public setting imaginable, then we want to hear from you.

The application asks for the regular questions like your name, birthday, and email address, but also asks, “How would you classify yourself politically?”

Vice also asks, “Tell us a bit about yourself and your politics. How did you become the person you are today?” and, “If you could change just one thing about the American government, what would it be?"

The application even becomes self-aware, asking bluntly, “Why on earth would you want to go on a reality TV show in which you know you're going to be forced to be around and react to people who are your ideological opposite?”

A Vice spokesman told the Hollywood Reporter said the show is still in the early stages.

If the show does become reality, instead of just being able to block people with opposing ideas, participants will now have to face people they’ve denigrated as the spawn of Satan or Nazis, all with cameras in their faces.
