This is what happens when the leadership in a major city does very little to curb the violence plaguing said city. The police can only do their jobs as much as the leadership allows them to do, which in leftist controlled towns isn’t much.
After a United States Postal Service (USPS) worker was shot on the job in Chicago — go figure — President of the Chicago chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers Mack Julion instructed postal workers not to deliver the mail on their routes if they don’t feel safe while doing so.
“Any letter carrier who does not feel safe in any one of these communities then they are not to deliver mail and customers have to pick up their mail," Julion recently said at a rally to demand the city do something about the rampant violence. "We are not going to have another situation where the letter carrier is shot down.”
Dozens of people in Chicago have been shot in the city every single weekend. Heck, 10 to 15 people are shot on weekdays in the Chicagoland area.
The postal worker was shot during a drive-by shooting, with authorities indicating that the employee wasn’t the intended target, according to ABC 7 - Chicago.
So many shooting victims in Chicago are innocent bystanders, but they’re apparently just statistics for those who reside in City Hall.
Do the powers-that-be in Chicago really expect people to put up with this rampant violence much longer? Businesses, organizations and services will eventually follow the USPS’s example and tell their employees that they can either stay home or that their job is moving to another city because of the violence that is almost unavoidable in some parts of Chicago or any other city that lets anarchy run amok.
