U.N. Issues Really Stupid Warning About Repeal of Obamacare

Just what the United States needs. More Globalists/Socialists trying to tell the U.S. how to run its country.

The United Nations (U.N.) essentially warned the Trump administration that repealing portions of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) could be a violation of several international laws.

This is all according to a U.N. letter written in February but made public recently, posted by the Washington Post:

I would like to bring to the attention of your Government information I have received concerning the possibility to repeal core elements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) with negative impacts on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest of the highest attainable standards of physical and mental health in the United States, in particular those with moderate or low income and in situations of poverty or social exclusion.

There are so many things to laugh about in this statement that questioning the intelligence of the man that wrote it, Dainius Puras, is quite necessary.

It’s clear that Puras has not kept up with the healthcare system in the U.S. for about, oh, seven years. You could take it a step further by saying that Puras, who is the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the right to physical and mental health, isn’t aware of what are the basic rights of Americans.

Healthcare is not a right. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are. Freedom of speech is also a right of Americans, but globalists like Puras wouldn’t understand a concept like that.

Puras sounds very concerned about the plight of the impoverished in this country, but he never said a word when over 5,000,000 Americans saw their health insurance policies cancelled because of the Act.

Further into the letter, Puras wrote, "Recent reports assessed the negative impact that this reform may have on the right to health of almost 30 million people in the U.S[…]Reports indicate that, with these reforms, 9.6 million people may become uninsured."

So almost 10 million people could lose their health insurance. About the only thing sure about the insurance low-income people have gained through Obamacare- is the long wait times.

According to the National College of Physicians’ Journal of Medicine in 2014, “Patients are waiting an average of 18 days to schedule an appointment for a doctor.”

And that was three years ago!

What Puras and people of his ilk don’t understand is that the majority of a person’s level of health is dependent on that person. That is why it’s not a right.

You’re entitled to life. How a person chooses to live it is up to them.

So the next time the U.N. wants to step in and warn the U.S., as if we’re really scared of what the U.N. thinks, maybe they should take the time and also review our founding documents that detail, for all to see, what true human rights sound like without interference from the government.

Our government could use a refresher course, as well.
