UN Deems France's Niqab Ban Human Rights Violation, Demands Compensation for Muslim Women

The United Nations (UN) is essentially a big joke masquerading as some kind of bastion for human rights. In reality, the UN — much like the European Union (EU) — are more interested in progressing their agenda and less interested in actually helping and protecting people.

The UN Human Rights Committee declared that France violated human rights because of a law that states that Muslim women aren’t allowed to wear niqabs.

A niqab is also known as a face veil, which is an even more aggressive oppression of Muslim women. You can basically only see the alleged woman’s eyes. I say “alleged” because you can’t tell who is actually under a garment that completely conceals someone’s identity.

According to the Daily Mail:

In a landmark ruling the UN moved to support wearers of the full-body Islamic veil and ordered France to repay two French women convicted for wearing niqabs in 2012.

The committee said in a statement that France had failed to make the case for its so-called 'burqa ban' and ordered it to review the legislation.

A panel of independent experts who oversee countries' compliance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, said France had 180 days to report back to say what actions it had taken.

If the ban is so egregious that it warrants compensation, why did the UN wait six years after the arrests of the niqab-wearing women and eight years after the law was enacted to do anything about it? Wasn't President Trump immediately vilified for instituting a supposed Muslim ban, even thought it wasn't a Muslim ban? So again, why did the UN wait eight years if they're so triggered by the law?

This sounds like just another case of a globalist governing body kowtowing to the far-Left so that they’re not deemed racist or Islamophobic. The only problem is that Islam isn’t a race. It’s a religion.

Why should the French government have to pay anyone for violating a known law at least a year after it was enacted? It’s just like the UN to butt into a sovereign country’s affairs by deeming their law a “violation of human rights.”

My question is, at the end of the day, does the UN hold any actual power? Just don’t listen to them. What are they going to do? Are they going to fine you, take away your UN vote and throw you out of the UN if you don’t pay the fine? Just don’t pay it and leave. The UN has outlived its usefulness, if there ever was a true use for it in the first place.

The UN predictably stated that enforcing a law that removes identity-hiding clothing is harmful.

“The French law disproportionately harmed the petitioners’ right to manifest their religious beliefs,” the committee’s statement read, according to the Daily Mail.

What’s clear is that France enacted the ban in 2010 for security reasons.

Let’s put it this way; If a masked robber held up a bank at gunpoint, the authorities aren’t going to be looking for someone in a mask. They’re going to try to find out who’s behind the mask and arrest them based on their unmasked identity. Wouldn’t it be easier for authorities to identify an unmasked robber than a masked one?

The UN simply doesn’t care about who is hiding behind the mask, as long as they’re perceived as “tolerant.” The truth is that the UN is only interested in being tolerant towards people who can help advance their globalist agenda.
