Twitter is reportedly considering “labeling” Trump’s tweets that they say violate their rules, but need to stay up because they’re part of public record.

During an on-stage talk with The Washington Post Wednesday, Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's head of legal, policy and trust, was asked how the company plans to handle tweets from Trump that allegedly “violate [Twitter’s] rules against bullying, dehumanization and threatening harm,” according to CNN.

In response, the Twitter spokesperson said the platform has considered somehow “labeling” the tweets as being in violation of their rules, but that they've left up because they’re important for public discourse.

"One of the things we're working really closely on with our product and engineering folks is, 'How can we label that?’" Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's head of legal, policy and trust"How can we put some context around it so people are aware that that content is actually a violation of our rules and it is serving a particular purpose in remaining on the platform."

Gadde didn’t say exactly what such “labeling” would include, how it would determine what should be labeled, or when the company plans to implement the new system.
