It looks like President Trump is skipping the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner…again.

For the third year in a row, the president is unsurprisingly declining his invite to the yearly affair, in which media elites dress in their finest duds, feast on an elaborate buffet and pat themselves on the back for…well, being themselves.

Instead, Trump said he’ll be attending a rally.

"The dinner is boring and so negative that we’re going to hold a very positive rally," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a trip to the southern border Friday. “I like positive things.”

While the president’s consistent snubbing of the media’s favorite yearly event has been met with criticism from many left-leaning reporters, journalists and pundits, Trump – and his supporters – don’t seem to care.

And it’s not hard to see why. Last year’s event was such a nightmare, the White House Correspondents' Association ended up having to apologize for remarks made by its keynote speaker, “comedienne” Michelle Wolf, who used her moment in the spotlight to insult White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders’ looks and made graphic jokes about abortion. The speech even caused some notable news outlets like The Hill to pull out of future events, saying, "“There’s simply no reason to participate in something that casts our profession in a poor light."

Thanks to last year’s mess, this year, the WCHA will forgo a comedian headliner for the first time in recent history in favor of historian and biographer Ron Chernow.
