President Trump during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday said that he’s not interested in making a “simple deal” with North Korea.

He said that he wants to see a complete denuclearization of the rogue regime and nothing less.

"It would be very easy for me to make a simple deal and declare victory. I don’t want that,” said Trump. “I want them to get rid of their nukes.”

Ahead of the much-anticipated summit between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, North Korea on Friday announced that the DPRK would be ceasing any further nuclear tests or missile launches effective immediately.

North Korean state media described the action as a show of goodwill amid diplomatic talks with the U.S. and South Korea.

Trump applauded the move “good news” for the world:

“North Korea has agreed to suspend all Nuclear Tests and close up a major test site. This is very good news for North Korea and the World - big progress! Look forward to our Summit,” he tweeted.

Kim Jong Un is scheduled to meet with South Korean leader Moon Jae-in this week.

He is also expected to hold a summit with President Trump in the coming months.

It has been reported that Trump will not lift any sanctions on North Korea unless Kim Jong Un agrees to denuclearize.
