Trump: 'We Have A Very Corrupt Media' - 'Sick'

President Trump on Tuesday joked about how he heard from First Lady Melania Trump how he apparently had a heart attack over the weekend.

“I went for a physical on Saturday … And I came back. My wife said, ‘Darling, are you okay?’ [I said] what’s wrong? ‘Oh, they’re reporting you may have had a heart attack,’” said Trump to reporters.

“I said, why did I have a heart attack?” he continued. “‘Because you went to Walter Reed Medical Center’ … I said I was only there for a very short period of time.”

The President went on to say that he had “a very routine physical” and while he was there he toured the hospital “for a little while” and visited the family of a young soldier who was being treated for injuries.

He added, "These people [in the media] are sick."

"The press really in this country is dangerous. We don't have freedom of the press in this country. We have the opposite. We have a very corrupt media, and I hope they can get their act straight," said Trump.

The media including Politico, BBC, and CNN (of, course), ran headlines such as “Trump’s health ‘very good’ after unscheduled physical exam,” “Yes, It’s OK to Speculate on the President’s Health,” and “Why you can’t trust the White House on Donald Trump’s health.”

CNN in particular outright accused the White House of being capable of lying to the American people about Trump’s health, adding that the outlet hasn’t observed any changes in diet or exercise regimen since Trump’s last annual physical in 2018. Are there not more important things to report on other than what the President eats or how much he's exercising?

CNN put together yet another one of its conspiracy theories, saying, “Now consider what we know about Trump's visit to Walter Reed on Saturday. It was unscheduled. Unlike his past physicals, it was not on his public schedule and was not announced to reporters. The medical staff did not get a heads up that a ‘VIP’ guest was coming, as they typically would. While White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said the trip was simply Trump getting a jump on his annual physical, he did not have that physical done in phases or over multiple days in the past two years. So, there's reason -- lots of it! -- to wonder. Especially when you consider that Trump has shown little hesitation to doctor, um, doctor's reports in the past.”

Trump explained on Tuesday that he had some time to spare and that he wanted to get a jump on his annual physical considering how, with the Democrats' impeachment efforts, January might be a "busy month" for him.

He slammed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "highly overrated" and "highly incompetent," saying that he would not be surprised if she were able to "get the vote."
