Trump on Impact of Virus: 'This is the Worst Attack We've Ever Had on Our Country'

As we continue to trudge on through the current situation of having to be locked down because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, people seem to be increasingly seeing that spread of the virus to the U.S. was essentially an attack on our country by - at the very least - negligent world governments.

During a question-and-answer session following President Donald Trump's Oval Office celebration of National Nurses Day on Wednesday, the president an interesting observation following a reporter's question concerning the severity of the problems facing the U.S. should the country not reopen soon. Trump commented on how the stock market has persevered through this time despite having gone through "the worst attack we've ever had on our country."

Here's part of Trump's answer to that particular question:

From an economic standpoint, next year's going to be a very big year. There's tremendous demand. You see with the stock market, where the stock market's at 24,000 and we went through the worst attack we've ever had on our country. This is really the worst attack we've ever had. This is worse than Pearl Harbor. This is worse than the World Trade Center. There's never been an attack like this, and it should've never happened. Could've been stopped at the source. Could've been stopped in China. It should've been stopped right at the source, and it wasn't.

It remains to be seen whether we can officially designate the current crisis as a pandemic cause by negligence or one cause by an intentional attack.
